Goose Island Stout Fest 3/16/13

It's that time of year when all the amateurs will be out drinking $3 pints of the "Green Beer" and the beer geeks have forked over some cash to drink some of the areas finest dark beers, aka Stouts. For those of you lucky enough to score tickets, which were rumored to have sold out in 60 sec without any warning of them going on sale,  doors open at 12 pm (11 am MBA members) at Goose Island Clybourn.  Flossmoor will bring along two of it's finest Stouts, Iron Horse and Thundersnow. Iron Horse Stout 5.8% ABV, 42 IBU The malt bill has been simplified to create a balance of chocolate and roast, with a discernible American hop presence to balance.  Thundersnow 9% ABV, 67 IBU Rich and complex, this Russian Imperial Stout has every dimension of flavor coming into play.  Roasty and fruity with a noticeable presence of alcohol. Think bittersweet chocolate.
Flossmoor's very own Assistant Brewer Bill Savage will be on hand pouring and chatting with fellow beer geeks to answer any questions you may have about current Flossmoor Station and it's beers.

Goose Island Clybourn's annual Stout Fest will have 15+ area breweries and their brewers on hand, pouring their handcrafted stouts!
